When We Removed God…
We removed God from our schools in the early 1960’s and as a society we have suffered ever since. What exactly happened 50 years ago? In two landmark decisions – Engel v. Vitale on June 25, 1962, and Abington School District v. Schempp on June 17, 1963 – the Supreme Court declared school-sponsored prayer and Bible readings unconstitutional.
“During the 1960s and 1970s, public schools attempted a values-free approach, now known among educators as “values clarification.” Under this approach, teachers would not make value judgments for their children, but raise ethical questions and then teach students the skills that would help them determine right and wrong for themselves. We removed “The Golden Rule” from the walls in our schools, because it might be considered “offensive” since it came from the Bible (Matthew 7:12, Leviticus 19:18). “Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you.” How is that offensive? It’s called “paying it forward, give and receive, getting back what you dish out, planting and reaping.” Like we say, “If you want a friend, show yourself friendly.” It is a universal law. Maybe if that were taught in our schools, people might be a little more loving, kind, nice and friendly.
No God… No Peace, Joy, Truth, Love, or Life!
- God is LOVE. When we removed God, we were left with HATE.
- True Love is SELF-LESSNESS. We were left with SELF-ISHNESS.
- God is PEACE. We were left with STRIFE and DIVISION.
- God is ORDER. We were left with CHAOS and DISORDER.
- God is TRUTH. We were left with LIES and DECEIT.
- God is WISDOM. We were left with IGNORANCE.
- God is JOY. We were left with SORROW and MISERY.
- God is HOPE. We were left with HOPELESSNESS.
What do we have prevalent in our society right now? All the above! Can you see where we derailed as a society? We must get back on track to turn our society around and not self-destruct. Our own ignorance is killing us. We have no understanding of who we are or how we are designed to operate (Spirit, Soul, Body). We will not fix the problem by putting a Band-aid on it. You have to fix the source of the problem, which is a heart issue and identity problem (spiritual amnesia). Only then, can we return to our original design and restore the earth as well. All men can live as one in peace together.
The Fool Says There is No God
“The [spiritually ignorant] fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, they have committed repulsive and unspeakable deeds;
There is no one who does good. The Lord has looked down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there are any who understand (act wisely),
Who [truly] seek after God, [longing for His wisdom and guidance].” Psalm 14:1-2 AMP
No offense to those who don’t believe there is a God that created this universe or that He exists. None of us can understand anything unless “the eyes of our understanding are enlightened” and “the light goes on” as we say. I have prayed this scripture from Ephesians most of my life and encourage you to do the same. Doing so has given me the privilege to get to really know our Father God personally, who He is, what He likes and doesn’t like, what He stands for, what He will and won’t do. I know Him… not just know about Him.
God is GoOd: He always adds and multiplies to our life
The Devil is d-EVIL: He always subtracts and divides from our life
“17 [I always pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son]. 18 And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the [f]hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the [g]saints (God’s people), 19 and [so that you will begin to know] what the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His [active, spiritual] power is in us who believe.” Ephesians 1:17-19 AMP
Get God and Get-a-Life!
If each one of us takes personal responsibility to get to know God personally and let Him fill our hearts with true love, peace, joy, order, truth, wisdom, etc. our lives will totally be transformed and we will never be the same! Then if “Each One will Reach One” everyone will know how wonderful life can be. We will not be walking around like zombies, empty, dead, with no purpose or passion, not knowing our true identity, with something missing but we just can’t fill the void. The void is God, our heavenly Father! Most everyone wants to know our family history because that helps us know who we are. When we find God, we find our true self. When we quit putting our defenses up and resisting Him, but instead open the door of our hearts and invite Him in to get to know Him, HE will fill every void, every empty crevice, and lonely place in our hearts. He will heal every hurt and pain we carry, and give us freedom and hope to live again. He is so wonderful! All you have to do is open the door and invite Him in.
